Watch Kenners Grow!

I can't believe its already been 3 months! Time is flying! Here are some highlights of the past 3 months:
- Kennedy is super smiley! She has the biggest dimples and if you smile at her she's definitely gonna smile back!
- She loves laying on the floor and kicking her legs and wiggling her arms!
- We have lots of nick names for this little one! Kenners, Kenners P. Green, Edy, Edy Peddy, Princess (of course), Little Pretty, Kenny Boo Boo (per Aunt Ellen)
- She loves hanging out in the Baby Bjorn when we're out and about, she doesn't love her car seat or stroller.
- Just this month she started really grabbing the toys on her play mat and on her car seat
- She lover her passy! (But only at nap and bed time or when she's extra fussy)
- She is SOOOO close to rolling over
- Kenners loves when mom sings to her!
- She has a cute laugh/giggle
- She makes the CUTEST sounds when shes sleeping
- Hiccups are a pretty common occurrence for her
- She has the cutest sneeze ever!
- She sleeps about 7 hours a night and has been doing that from about 3 weeks old :)
- She's a fashionista! (well mommy loves to dress her up)
- She's had some incredible diaper blowouts. :/
- Kennedy is a pretty chill baby, almost a little introverted, she doesn't love big crowds.
- We've probably already kissed her 5 million times.
- She smiles at you when she first wakes up. Best thing EVER.
There are so many things that I could write about her but I can't think of all of them and it might get a little crazy mom if I started going in depth of all the things I think are amazing about her! We love Kennedy so much. Having her around is such a blessing. Being a mom is the BEST.

Kennedy Paige

This post is a litttttle late, but I want to blog my birth story! Hang in there its LONG. It started with me going over my due date of November 7th. I had an appointment scheduled on November 8th and was hopeful for some good news like, "you're dilated to a 5, go to the hospital now!" or something semi-exciting like that. But of course, there was no action, nothing, nada and I was sad.  They scheduled another appointment for the next Monday and I was hopeful that I wouldn't need that appointment because I'd surely go into labor over the weekend... nope. Went in on Monday and made Bobby come with me because I had to decide if I wanted to be induced (which I was very opposed to from the beginning) and yet again I had nothing goin' on down there. So we talked with my Dr. and scheduled an appointment for Friday (the 16th) to be induced, and again I was sure I wouldn't need to go, I'd have the baby before. The week went by and my belly just kept feeling bigger and BIGGER (see photo from last post). Early Friday morning I actually started having contractions! Woohoo! And some other delightful things happened that I don't need to mention... so we headed to the hospital for my scheduled induction. They got me all registered and we were ready to get the party started! They gave me an oral medication that is meant to ripen the cervix and kick start labor, fun stuff. They gave me I think a quarter dose of the stuff and let me tell you, IT WORKED. Contractions are a blast! The wonderful nurse taught me some breathing techniques and Bobby's hand became my stress ball for each contraction. I decided to have a midwife help with my labor and she also had some good tips for getting through contractions. Well, after a few hours I decided some pain intervention was needed and they gave me pain medicine that only lasted for 45 minutes and made me puke! (it was delicious popsicle puke though) It was epidural time because my contractions were KILLER! So they gave me the good stuff and I was on Cloud Nine. My nurse then checked me and I was only dilated to like 1 centimeter. Really nice for 7 hours of labor.... well she also broke my water! That was another delightful experience. But anyways this is when all the fun began, suddenly like 8 doctors and nurses come rushing in and I'm just cluelessly smiling at them as they put oxygen on me and gave me a shot to stop my contractions all while explaining to me that the baby's heart rate was dropping a lot during contractions and she would have to do better for a while before they could start up the contractions again. Now Bobby and I are all stressed out but trying to relax (cuz thats what they keep telling me to do) I had my mom come to the hospital to comfort me and then told her since it would be a while she should go get a book to read. So she left. Then a doctor who is a family friend of my sister in law came to check on me (while not even on shift, out of the kindness of her heart) because Bobby's family was worried about me. She gave me more of a low down on what was happening with me and asked if she could talk to the the people on shift to find out what was going on. She told me they would start Pitocin after baby had been stable for a little while longer and then if things were going well and if they weren't I'd most likely need a C-Section (another thing I never thought I would EVER need to do) So after some tears and my mom coming back they started the Pitocin and told me to relax because it would still be a while. So again I sent my mom home and told her we'd call when things got really going (I'm still barely dilated by the way) They start the Pitocin and here come the contractions again! But they're just a lot of pressure at this point since I'm still hooked up to the epidural. After maybe 20 minutes or so and only getting to stage two of pitocin baby girl was still not having it. Dr. Kelly (family friend) came back in a says that we should do a c-section because the baby isn't doing well. Immediately they get me ready for surgery and I call my mom and tell her the news. she and my dad headed over and I went into the OR with Bobby by my side. Well not too much later at 7:05pm Kennedy Paige was safely brought into the world. She weighed 7lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. The cord was around her neck twice which they think was being pressed on during contractions but she was otherwise perfectly healthy! They sewed me up while Kennedy and I had some skin to skin time. I was balling and saying how happy I was! It was so amazing to have this little baby on my chest. The first thing we noticed were her big ol' dimples! We stayed 2 nights in the hospital and everything was great! We came home Sunday afternoon.

Bumpdate

This is literally the second bump picture I've taken! I'm semi-disappointed in myself. I was going to take a photo every week! But its ok. I have two. HAHA! I'm now 25 weeks and feeling all kinds of kicks and twists and I think this baby is preparing for the Olympics! Hopefully I think I'm now feeling more motivated to take pictures so hopefully it won't take another 10 weeks!

The Green Bean!

I guess I've just been waiting for something amazing to blog about and now I have something AMAZING! We're having a baby GIRL!!!! We are supppper excited. Bobby's still kinda confused, he asked, what do girls even do? haha, but I know he's very excited! Here are some photos just to prove it...

Here's the proof! The arrow is pointing to her little vagina!

And another close up in case you missed it the first time...

This little girlie was not wantin' to put on a show! It took about 15 minutes for the ultrasound dude to get a good angle to see what was she is.
It took me all of 4 hours before I decided to go shopping. I'm just so excited!

This is me at 16 weeks/today. I'm standing in the baby's room which we painted today! I wanted a gray room whether it was a boy or girl, but don't worry I have big plans to girl this room up!

Left my heart in San Francisco

We went to San Francisco this weekend for a 49ers game and also made a quick stop at the Golden Gate Bridge! We took a ton of pictures at the bridge because Bobby's work is doing a Planking contest and he thought it would be a great place to plank. It was cold and a little rainy but really fun wandering around the bridge. Then we went to Candlestick Park for the game. This was the first time I'd ever been to an NFL game and it was SOOOO exciting. I was so into it that I couldn't stop saying, "this is so awesome!" I seriously probably said that 50 times. Haha. The Niners won! Bobby loved it too which was the most important thing to me. It only rained for the first half of the game then the sun came out and warmed us right up! Thank goodness for ponchos otherwise we would have gotten pretty wet.

Bobby's Birthday 9/19/2011

The birthday boy and his cake!
Bob turned the big 2-8 this year! It was a wonderful birthday for him! (according to me...) He was showered with 49er gifts... which is pretty much all he wanted! There were 'Niner pajamas, a lunch box, and a license plate ring, the only thing that couldn't happen.. the actual team winning an actual game. But he had a fab birthday anyhow! His mama got him a popcorn make which he's been wantin for a little while now! His brothers and sisters all made him delicious birthday treats. And our awesome friends surprised him on his birthday by coming to our house with one of his favorite desserts, Angel Food Cake, Cool Whip and Strawberries! Yuuummmmmy! It was a wonderful birthday! Thanks everyone!
