Outta the Red (figuratively speaking)

Before (the WORST before picture EVER)

Don't be misguided by the title, though we try to keep our debt to a minimum, I'm talking about the red wall in our house!!! We finally painted it! I loved it when we first moved in 3 years ago... but as of late I hated it!!! My mom would always say she'd come over and help me paint it, but I never could decide on a color and I semi-dread painting. But one evening Bobby and I were at The 'Po (dad's name for Home Depot) and I was browsing the paint area and I begged Bobby to help me paint! I found a few paint chips I liked and took them home and taped them on the wall... a few days later I decided Creamy Mushroom it would be! And not only did I want the red wall gone but all the white walls too. So we geared up, got all the necessary things (Bobby got a fancy painter thingy) and prepared to paint. Kim and Justin came over to help us tape and prep, then the next day I came home Bobby had all the walls started!! I was so happily surprised... so i got to work doing the edges and detail-y things. And viola! A few days later we had a whole new house!!! IT looks AMAZING! Bobby keeps saying how its the best color he's ever seen, and it cracks me up. I love it too. Its so nice not having white(dirty) walls. I haven't finished hanging everything back up, but I'm working on it(I'm having some creative block issues, ha) and I am like a weird kind of anal about stuff like that, like it took me SUCH a long time to decide a color and then I picked one really quickly. If that makes sense, its a weird quirk. But needless to say it was a much needed sprucing to our home. I'm super happy and grateful for Bobby's hard work. I love it! (The color doesn't look that great in the picture, but I swear its beautiful! Come see!!!)

Museum Day!

Saturday was Sacramento Museum Day. A ton of museums throughout Sac town were free! Jo and Katie invited to go to a few with them and we had a ton of fun!

First stop was to the Aerospace Museum at McClellan Air Force Base. There were quite a few big ol planes and a GIANT helicopter (which we didn't take a picture of) to look at and walk in. The boys were really into learning about the engines and junk and Katie and I were all about just looking and being fascinated. Hahaha. There were a lot of people there but it wasn't too bad. We then headed downtown and thought we might try the Crocker Art Museum but saw the line outside and decided this wasn't a good choice and went to Old Town and visited the Railroad Museum and the Military Museum. Both were way crowded but it was really fun to walk around Old Town. I haven't really been down there in a long time. We made the bad choice to go to this burger place in South Sac called Squeeze Inn. We waited in line in the rain for an hour and then when we finally go to the counter to place our order we were informed it would be another hour and a half to get our food. We were already starving at this point but had not choice(she already ran our credit card.) So we drove by my old house in Sacramento then found a Target to wander around in and went back only to wait another 30 minutes. The burgers were ok. I would have rather had In-N-Out. But all in all it was a fun day! We watched Night at the Museum 2 later that night. Pretty funny. haha.

Welcome to 0-10.

Welp, I haven't started the year so great with my bloggin... but its ok. We haven't been up to anything to exciting. Bobby has been studying like crazy for his CPA tests. He's taken 2, gotten the results for 1 (he passed :D) and is signed up for the 3rd. So needless to say he's been busy. I just started my second semester at Sierra College and I'm taking Pyschology and History. I got A's in both classes last semester but I sorta feel like going out on top and retiring from school. Ha. I admire people who work and go to school (like Bob). But I just sometimes like to do nothing when I'm not at work... call me lazy, call me unmotivated, but at least I know what I want to do... haha. Don't worry, I wont quit. OH!!! We saw Avatar, AWESOME MOVIE!! (dont tell me that its political cuz I dont care) Hope everyone's year is off to a good start!

Happy Merry!

YAY FOR CHIRSTMAS!!!
So, I don't think I've been this sad for Christmas to be over since I was a lil kid. It went by SOOO fast. It was a really awesome Christmas and all but I just wish it could have lasted longer!!! Well anyway, here's what we did.....
We got our Christmas Tree at Wise Buys again this year for $10 which is the best deal ever for the beautiful REAL tree we got!!! And the first Christmas surprise I got was the tree skirt my mom made us! It is the CUTEST tree skirt EVER!!! It was such a wonderful surprise and I LOVEEEEE IT! Thank you so much mom!
Christmas Eve was the Davis family Chistmas cuz we wanted Ell and family to be there since he had to work on Christmas Day so we celebrated early with the traditional breakfast (made by dad and was YUMMY as usual) and opening presents! Unfortunately Bob couldn't be there :( but he opened his presents on Christmas. Then I spent the afternoon with Ellen at lunch with some of her high school friends. Fun!! Bobby and I then headed up the hill to Grandma Shirley's for ham dinner and family gift exchange! It was awesome. We got Guesstures and awesome solar light yard decorator things! Christmas morning Bob and I opened presents together then went to the Green's for breakfast and more presents!!! We got New Super Mario Bros for the Wii!! WOO HOOO!!!! We then went to Jack-in-the-Box for lunch with my fam as per tradition and talked to EV on the phone!!! I miss him a lot so it was awesome to talk to him. Then we went back to the Greens for dinner and some games. We then swung by to see Ell, Kell, Ellie, Scot, Macie and Lucy! We had fun over there playing Simon Says and Charades. Then we went home, and Christmas was over, and I was a little sad... but now I'm looking forward to next year and I'm going to start Christmas the day after Halloween!!! haha just kidding, but I might... we'll see.

I am Thankful for my Family.

Thanksgiving was AWESOME! I got to go to Pismo Beach and be with my family!! The only bummer was that Bobby had to work and couldn't go :( And of course we missed Ev, but he's having a good time in Tennessee and we didn't forget about him!!! Ellen made a yummy Turkey Day dinner with delicious appetizers to start us off. The weather was GORGEOUS! My mom kept telling me it was going to be in the 70's and I kind of put it off as wishful thinking on her part, but it was TOTALLY WARM! (I should know by know that mom is always right) I loved playing with my nieces and nephew and spending time with my sisters and brothers (that includes the in-laws!) Luckily I made the trip there and back safely cuz...... just a week later the SAME car I drove to Pismo decided to die on Bobby, who usually drives the car... so now its in the shop getting fixed.... cars are so lame. But thank goodness we are fortunate enough to have 2 cars and thank goodness mom and dad let us borrow the Honda. So yeah, thanksgiving was pretty dang awesome.

Me, Macie, Scot and Andrew at the Park

Jameser at the Beach with the Booms! James loves the sand!!!

The fam holdin up a Howdy Y'all sign for EV!

My beautiful sisters who I miss like crazy!

Golf Balls

I'm not usually one to post blogs about random stuff, but I felt like it today.
For those of you who don't know Bobby really likes golf. He played on the team in high school and used to play quite a bit with his friends. He hasn't had much time in the last few years to golf much but when he can he hits the links. Anyways... I was cleaning out one of our many junk drawers the other night and I was amazed at the copious amount of golf balls Bobby has. And tees too. Golf balls roll around in his trunk of his car and under the seats. Not to mention the tons he has in his golf bag. IT'S CRAZY!!! Ha. Don't tell him but I've been throwing away the ones in the car lately, he has so many I don't think he'll notice. :D By the way this picture is just a small collection of our golf balls, think I should call the Guinness people?

All Kinds of goods!!

Ok! So this is a gigantic post.... Sorry. Ha.
Well the night before Halloweeny Bobby and I dressed up as Nerds for Katie, Jo, Kim and Justin's Ward Party. Bobby said quote "I'm gonna hate every minute of this" cuz his costume was pretty nerdy. The shirt is thanks to Ev. But he had a ton of fun!!! We all were quite the hit as the nerd herd. Katie got us the sweet glow-in-the-dark glasses at the dollar store.
Bobby and I are both taking vacation time this week and decided we need to venture on down the coast. On Monday morning we drove straight down to Santa Cruz's Mystery Spot. I drove the whoooooole way so Bobby could sit in the back and study (I know...I'm such a good wife). The Mystery Spot was really neat! But we decided it was a once in 10 years type of thing. From there we went straight to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We really enjoyed all the sea life and little exhibits. We saw an Albatross up close and personal and learned about these birds that are often mistaken for seagulls. We watched penguins be fed. We saw a young shark, learned about The Deep sea and the under water canyon that starts in the Monterey Bay. We watched a scuba diver go into the Kelp Forest tank and hand feed all the fish!!! It was super cool. Did I mention we saw a a shark....all Bobby could talk about was the Great White Shark, which was kind of a dud for me. They only keep young shark there and it was SMALL! ha. I guess you can't keep a huge shark in a lil aquarium. But all in all the aquarium was awesome! We ate Denny's for dinner cuz we wanted something classy... haha. It was across the street from our hotel. :D The next morning we packed up and drove to the 17 mile drive. Super pretty drive but really confusing. I was once again driving and got a little frustrated at the road. We got an ocean view to die for (sorry no pics, this is when I was "frustrated"). The houses on the road are AMAZING!!!! Literally castles. From there we went up to San Fran. We took a boat ride to Alcatraz. This was a really neat experience. I really can't describe it! I think you should all go there!! Its worth it!!! We had a nice time getting away and hope we go on another fun trip soon!!
