Catchin Up

I'm a terrible blogger... But its ok! I'm blogging now!
The biggest and most BESTEST news as of late is that Bobby passed his last CPA test!!!! YAY! We could not be any happier! Bobby has spent MANY hours studying for the 4 tests and got his results for the final test last week. He's now on the hunt for a job so look out accounting world cuz this stud is comin at-cha!

And if you couldn't tell from the picture, Bobby recently decided he wanted to be into Harry Potter. I'm not all that into it but because I'm a good wife I went along with it and watched all 6 movies with him in 6 nights and then went and saw #7 with him. It was fun, but I still don't think I'm convinced enough to read the books...

Holy Moly!

Needless to say, It's been a while since I bligggity blogged. Sometimes I just think our life wouldn't be that interesting to anyone else I guess. haha. Ok, here are the few things I can recall since I last blogged...
#1: We celebrated Bobby's 27th birthday! Yes, he is getting soooo old. Hehe. I got Bobby some new scriptures, a painting, the Thomas Monson Biography and a few other goodies. We hung out with friends and had the usual Green Family celebration.
#2: We celebrated our friends Katie and Jo's birthday. In September we have a birthday a week between us and our friends so its a pretty intesnse/exciting month! We usually go to someplace delicious to eat and hang out.
#3: We celebrated my 23rd birthday! Bobby got me an AMAZING new camera!!!! I haven't taken any exciting pictures yet, but I will post some that I've taken. I got other great gifts too from friends and fam! So mostly we spent September celebrating birthdays.
We celebrated our niece Macie's 4th birthday at Leatherby's.
Grandma Davis came out from Utah to visit and it was so nice to see her and visit with her. We love her so much.
I went to the Pumkpin Patch with my mom which was HOTTT but good.
We joined a gym called Crunch Fitness last week and Bobby loves it. So look out for his giant muscles!
My good friend Shalon came to visit her family and I got to spend some time with her and it was awesome.
We've done the usual hanging out with Kimberly, Justin, Katie and Jo. So yeah, life is kinda just moving along as usual. Work is good. We are both healthy and very happy! Hopefully we do something exciting soon so you don't have to read blog posts like this :/

Why is the Sea Foam not Green?

I decided kind of last minute to drive down to Pismo Beach to visit my sister Ellen. Let me just say, it was a GREAT decision!!! I was SO happy to see Ellen. Its been since Christmas that I've seen Ellen and I was also really excited to meet her beau Josh. I headed down Saturday morning and had a relatively smooth drive. We were all totally spoiled and had a beautiful sunny weekend (Ellen said the weather had been pretty if-y the whole week) We went to the beach (of course) shopped a little, ate realllly good food and just hung out and caught up on what's new in our lives. I couldn't stop thinking about how happy I was to be there! It was really awesome! Thanks for a fun weekend Ellen, Josh, Bianca and Scout(the dogs)! Oh and Ellen took me on an amazing hike on Monday morning before I left it was really cool!
The title of this blog came from one of my most quotable moments of the weekend was at the beach while standing the water... I said "why is the sea foam not Green???" haha, the sea foam was white. I know weird right??

Henderson, Nevada!

Bobby and I took a quick trip to Henderson/Las Vegas to visit Emily and her family and for Sarah's baptism. We caravaned with my mom and dad (who brought Ellie and Scot!) on Thursday. The drive was not near as bad as I thought it would be. On Friday Bobby and I drove to the Hoover Dam. We took an awesome tour! We got to go into the dam in all these cool tunnels and stuff! It was awesome. I learned that Bobby is afraid of heights. Some how I never new this. haha.

(There are kind of a lot of pics in this post, so it keeps going and going, so don't stop looking until you can't scroll down anymore! ha Happy Reading!)
The Dam View from the Dam Exhibit (hehe)^

Us in our "hard" hats, we took the Hard Hat Tour^

Me in a tunnel that Bobby had to duck in cuz it was so small!^

A Sweet new bridge their building going right by the dam^

Bob and the Dam^

After the dam we drove to the strip and went to the MGM where we got to watch the UFC weigh-ins! For FREE!! It was really cool, Brock Lesnar is huge. My camera was being slow and I didn't get the best pictures, but you can kinda get the idea here.

Stephan Bonnar weighin' in ^

Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin doin' their thang. ^

Bobby's favorite hotel to see was New York New York.

We went to this cool Shark Reef Aquarium on Friday night with Matt and Emily at Mandalay Bay. It was so neat! There was a Komodo Dragon, an Asian Water Monitor, some freaky sharks, piranhas, jellies and tons of other weird fish!

Water Monitor just chillllin.

SHARKKKK!!! (one, of toooo many, at least they aren't in the ocean)

Our favorite fish! It was a giant blue thing with HUGE lips and crazy eyes!

On Saturday, Sarah was baptized! It was awesome, I love Bbaptisms it's usually guaranteed you'll feel the Spirit! Here is the beautiful girl and her Papa!

Ok, so as a kid I hated fireworks, including Sparklers, but now that I'm all growed up (yeah, right ha) I was WAY excited to play with sparklers. I think I had more fun than the kids!

We had a wonderful trip, I was so happy to see Em, Matt, Sarah, Andrew and Baby James. I miss them already and I think we're gonna have to go back again soon...

Yosemite.

Bobby and I went to Yosemite this last weekend with his mom, dad, sister Kristy and Bro-in-law Matt. I still haven't quite been able to come up with words for how AWESOME that place is. Its so beautiful! We drove up to Bass Lake which is close to Yosemite and stayed the night in Gayle's (Bob's mom) condo. Way nice. Then Sunday morning we packed up the car and headed to the park. Our first stop, Mariposa Grove to see the Giant Sequoia's. Those tree's are dang BIGGGG! It was a fun little hike to the Grizzly Giant and the Tunnel Tree.

Bob showin us how huge the Fallen Tree is.

After taking in the Giantasauraus trees and the awful bathrooms (I have a slight phobia of those glorified portapotties that are a toilet ontop of a hole...ugh) we drove over to Yosemite Valley. We enjoyed looking at all the beautiful waterfalls and trees and mountains (and people watching hehe). Bobby and I wandered around just the 2 of us for a while. I ate lunch next to the Merced River while Bob climbed around on rocks. Then we later met up with Kristy and Matt and Gayle and Randy and walked to Yosemite Falls. This was SPECTACULAR. It made the whole trip worth it. I was literally in AWE! I was so glad Gayle invited us to go. It was so fun and I really can't wait to go back again! Maybe even do some real hiking. Half Dome anyone? ha. Everyone should make time to go there at some point in life!!
OH, and if you're looking for a good laugh, I realized as we were getting ready to head home on Sunday, that the WHOLE day I had had my white undershirt on backwards... yeah... too funny. I was like BOBBY! Why didn't you tell me! haha. And even more funny, well not to him, but Bobby's short zipper totally broke about half way through the day, were a couple of goof's. hahaha. :D

This is the first view we had after entering the valley through a tunnel! Gorgeous!

Me after eating lunch.

Mokelumne River Adventure Challenge

So the day for my big swim finally came! I did really surprisingly well with training. I went to the pool every weekday morning for a whole month! I really loooove swimming. Well this morning we went with Bobby's brother Bill and his fam down to Lodi Lake and triathloned it up! I swam first, which went really well it was just semi disorienting swimming in a murky lake compared to a crystal clear pool, but I felt good after the initial freezing cold water shock ha. Then I handed off the bracelet to Bobby and he ran 3.2 miles, and did it in an awesome 22 minutes! Which is not to shabby considering he ran about 2 times for his "training." The Bill jumped in his Kayak and paddle a 7 mile round trip on the Mokelumne River! We came in 5 out of 11 teams! It was super awesome and we were glad to do it for our amazing nephew Josh. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was a sponsor.

Blog 1 of our EPIC Weekend!

Dude! Fun weekend! Last night (Friday) we went to my wonderful long time friend Hannah Moore's reception! It was so fun! Delicious Cuban food and Letherby's Ice cream! Mmm-mmm good. AND there was a photo booth!!!! The cutest idea ever! It was so funny! (Our friend Jo scanned the pictures for me form the photo booth but the wouldn't upload...sorry) They had the best wedding coordinator ever!!! MY MOMMA! She did a beautiful job and it was a wonderful reception. And thankfully the wind died down just in time for a beautiful evening. Congratulations to Hannah and Nathaniel Cruz!

Front Yard!

Our front yard has a beautiful lawn and nice trees. But the area next to the walkway has always looked kinda crappy. The bark was yucky and old and the plants were weird and dying. And, unfortunately I took the picture after Bobby had already pulled out all this ugly weedish type stuff, I seriously can't even describe what it was, thats how ridiculous it was! HA! I think it was meant to be a type of ground cover but it was just dumb, you can see it in the trash can hanging out... So here is the some what before picture! (I'm getting better about the pictures)

Bob got all most of the before work done, so we called our wonderful friends Justin and Kim over to help us pick up some fresh new bark in their giant truck! After getting the bark we jammed over to Home Depot and got some shrubs, then headed back home to get to work. We got all the old bark out and tore even more of the old plants out then planted our new shrubs, found a new spot for the bench and then spread the new bark! I am going to paint the bench sometime soon, I just didn't get to it yesterday. So now our whole front yard is beautiful and not just our lawn! YAY!!! Thanks Kim and Justin for your help!!

Swimming, Swimming, Just keep swimming...

On Sunday my sister-in-law Kelly E. (I guess I have to put E. because I have 2 sisters-in-law named Kelly :D) asked if Bobby, Bill and I would be interested in all doing part of a triathlon to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and our lil nephew Joshy and asked me specifically to do the swimming portion! I was supppppppper excited because I've been wanting to get back into swimming for a while now. (I even had Bobby buy me a cap and goggles a while back) So this seemed like the perfect opportunity! There is a neat indoor pool in Roseville and I knew I should try and get in there to start my working out for my .6 mile swim. Just a reminder for those who can't remember... I haven't swam competitively in about 6 years. But anyways. I went and found out all the info I needed and got signed up. This morning at the crack of dawn (5am) I got up with all my goods to get ready for the day and went and swam laps for about 45 minutes! I was so excited and I loved every minute of it. I thought to myself that I wanted to not go to work and swim all day! It was awesome! But, I can totally tell I am WAY out of swimming shape. My arms were burning and I was lil short of breath. But I am determined to be able to swim the .6 miles! I smelled like Chlorine all day even though I showered, which was gross, but I'm sure I'll get used to it in no time! I'm so excited!!!
as Dory said in Finding Nemo
~ Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim, swim. ...are you my conscience?~

Outta the Red (figuratively speaking)

Before (the WORST before picture EVER)

Don't be misguided by the title, though we try to keep our debt to a minimum, I'm talking about the red wall in our house!!! We finally painted it! I loved it when we first moved in 3 years ago... but as of late I hated it!!! My mom would always say she'd come over and help me paint it, but I never could decide on a color and I semi-dread painting. But one evening Bobby and I were at The 'Po (dad's name for Home Depot) and I was browsing the paint area and I begged Bobby to help me paint! I found a few paint chips I liked and took them home and taped them on the wall... a few days later I decided Creamy Mushroom it would be! And not only did I want the red wall gone but all the white walls too. So we geared up, got all the necessary things (Bobby got a fancy painter thingy) and prepared to paint. Kim and Justin came over to help us tape and prep, then the next day I came home Bobby had all the walls started!! I was so happily surprised... so i got to work doing the edges and detail-y things. And viola! A few days later we had a whole new house!!! IT looks AMAZING! Bobby keeps saying how its the best color he's ever seen, and it cracks me up. I love it too. Its so nice not having white(dirty) walls. I haven't finished hanging everything back up, but I'm working on it(I'm having some creative block issues, ha) and I am like a weird kind of anal about stuff like that, like it took me SUCH a long time to decide a color and then I picked one really quickly. If that makes sense, its a weird quirk. But needless to say it was a much needed sprucing to our home. I'm super happy and grateful for Bobby's hard work. I love it! (The color doesn't look that great in the picture, but I swear its beautiful! Come see!!!)

Museum Day!

Saturday was Sacramento Museum Day. A ton of museums throughout Sac town were free! Jo and Katie invited to go to a few with them and we had a ton of fun!

First stop was to the Aerospace Museum at McClellan Air Force Base. There were quite a few big ol planes and a GIANT helicopter (which we didn't take a picture of) to look at and walk in. The boys were really into learning about the engines and junk and Katie and I were all about just looking and being fascinated. Hahaha. There were a lot of people there but it wasn't too bad. We then headed downtown and thought we might try the Crocker Art Museum but saw the line outside and decided this wasn't a good choice and went to Old Town and visited the Railroad Museum and the Military Museum. Both were way crowded but it was really fun to walk around Old Town. I haven't really been down there in a long time. We made the bad choice to go to this burger place in South Sac called Squeeze Inn. We waited in line in the rain for an hour and then when we finally go to the counter to place our order we were informed it would be another hour and a half to get our food. We were already starving at this point but had not choice(she already ran our credit card.) So we drove by my old house in Sacramento then found a Target to wander around in and went back only to wait another 30 minutes. The burgers were ok. I would have rather had In-N-Out. But all in all it was a fun day! We watched Night at the Museum 2 later that night. Pretty funny. haha.

Welcome to 0-10.

Welp, I haven't started the year so great with my bloggin... but its ok. We haven't been up to anything to exciting. Bobby has been studying like crazy for his CPA tests. He's taken 2, gotten the results for 1 (he passed :D) and is signed up for the 3rd. So needless to say he's been busy. I just started my second semester at Sierra College and I'm taking Pyschology and History. I got A's in both classes last semester but I sorta feel like going out on top and retiring from school. Ha. I admire people who work and go to school (like Bob). But I just sometimes like to do nothing when I'm not at work... call me lazy, call me unmotivated, but at least I know what I want to do... haha. Don't worry, I wont quit. OH!!! We saw Avatar, AWESOME MOVIE!! (dont tell me that its political cuz I dont care) Hope everyone's year is off to a good start!
